Memories of a Summer
Intense Production Studio at Kookmin University in summer 2024.
Collage — Photography — Memories
The class goal was to prepare an end-of-semester presentation for the Kookmin University Gallery.
The project centres around a collage that can be altered through visitor interaction, encouraging engagement and reinterpretation. Various techniques such as photography, layering, and modular design were used to create a flexible structure. The focus lies on capturing experiences and subtle observations, presenting them in a way that invites others to explore and connect with the details in their own way.

Wall:
Several mirror images hang on the wall, each one capturing moments and places that caught my attention over time. They nicely illustrate a view in both directions—when photographing them, you see both the surroundings and yourself, along with the reflection of the environment.
By having the same format (a circle), the location and mirror content become interchangeable, creating intriguing combinations.
Visitors are encouraged to swap the images and actively influence the installation themselves. Felt on the back makes it easy to a- and detach the pictures.
Table:
The table shows my impressions.
The images were arranged in groups. Various geometric elements extend and connect them. There’s no fixed order—visitors are free to rearrange them as they like.
My knowledge of South Korean culture and food mainly came from online videos and social media. Eventually, I got to replace that with my own experiences.
This idea is reflected in the next series of images. The front of each card shows screenshots from these videos, while the back combines two of them into a photo of my own experience.
